"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."
I find, not being a tennis player although we did it at school and I was useless, I don't understand the scoring. I also find the grunting of the ladies irritating. However, as I came out in support of The Dour Scots Laddie yesterday I guess I'll watch the mens final. Is that a 3 set or a 5 set (I didn't know there were different rules for men and women), if it's a finish at 11pm job then I won't watch.

Men's Grand Slam (French, USA, Wimbledon, Australia) are always 5 sets. (Hence the prize money debate - the ladies want the same money for 3 sets... )
It will be over by 5 or 6 at the latest I suppose, maybe earlier if Roger rips Murray to shreds

... if, as we hope, Roger rips Murray to shreds...
And, I did ask yesterday, why Murray is disliked and I got the answer "he's not terribly polite" well, neither was that bloke who had a fit of the vapours and kicked the linesman and nor was petulant John McEnroe. I think people are biased because he's Scottish, doesn't drink, is not glamourus like Agassi was, it not a cheating love rat like Borg and has no sense of humour. So, I will be rooting for him!!! <sticky out tongue emoticon>
Well the way Cali's predictions are going thus far, I've just laid in some more crumpets and a jumbo jar of Milo to ward off night starvation
Ooooh he can be vicious when he sets his mind to it!

no, I am biased because he lacks charm and isn't pretty.
Oh. Well that applies to McEnroe, Borg and countless other tennis players doesn't it? In fact, apart from possibly Agassi I can't think of a single pretty boy tennis player and he was a bit too much aging rock star looks. And the women are hardly any better in the beauty stakes. Although as they are all lesbians they should be able to play 5 sets with no probs.

Discuss. (Marks will be deducted for dubious jokes and word-play)

Oh No, you don't lure me into that trap!! I only introduced lesbians into the equation as it was so obvious no-one here fancied Andy Murray because he's rather plain. And there I was, thinking you were interested in the tennis and their forestroke and backhand rather than their 6 pack!!
Anyway, it seems Serena Williams (nice Welsh girl) has won, again.
