Anyone for tennis? Definitely! And from what I've heard and read, a much more rewarding watch than the Euro 2012 soccer tournament. Some unbelievable tennis from the young Czech last night.

I still can't see our Andy getting through though.

I don't go for these big tournaments. Follow my local tennis team through thick and thin through the winter. Those cold tuesday nights on the tennis terraces make for great bonding experiences.
Not been quite the same since it went all seater, but at least the worst of the violence has gone......I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered. My life is my own.
I am not a number, I am a free man.

Treats tomorrow should include Murray playing Baghdatis, and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga's latest outing (where DO the French get all these fine players from?) The only thing I don't enjoy is the grunting/screeching/screaming/yelping of a number of 'ladies'. I can say in all honesty that, if somebody gave me tickets to the Ladies' Final and Sharapova, Azarenko(?) or one of their ilk was playing, I would accept the tickets, only to promptly auction them off to the highest bidder and donate the proceeds to charity.

I watch it from time to time, though I don't care remotely who wins most of the time, unless one of the players I have taken a dislike to is playing (there's quite a list of these ) . I positively loathe most sport, but tennis is a strange exception. Perhaps it's because I actually know what's going on, or because the crowds behave well, or because it's not a team game - but really I think it's just habit. Also, it looks quite pretty when they wear white and play on grass. Mostly it's fairly dull, but occasionally there's a real thriller, like the Nadal/Rosol match yesterday, or that match last year that went on for hours and hours.
