You're not the only one. I don't think anyone could have done much faced with Paxo determined to live down to his image.

He had clearly done his homework, but I thought the savagery lay more in his manner than his questions. Smith did pretty well to remain unfazed.
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

Or maybe you could explain how Titch and Jones would make more intelligent interviewers.
Perhaps I should have made it clear that I'm one of those people who admire Jeremy Paxman and John Humphrys because they're good at their job, part of which is taking the Government to task when its actions contradict its words. I don't believe interviewers should change their style or soften their approach simply because the people who should be facing the questions have hung an unfortunate young, inexperienced colleague out to dry. I don't think JP was rude to Chloe Smith, nor did he make any personal comments. The fact that it was a mismatch was neither his fault nor hers. She needs to get over, and learn from, the experience if she wants to progress in her political career.

You seem quite obsessively oblivious to the realities of your paternity (if any); that said, if I think something, why would I not believe it? - what would otherwise be the purpose of thinking it?

Friendliness is one thing; "mates" can be something else. Not to mention the fact that BeefOven seems to have delusions of paternity that do no one, including him, any favours!

That's the first (and probably last) time that I've ever been accused of that! Anyway, I have no idea whether or not I like you beause I've never met you and don't even know your real name. I really wouldn't worry about such things; it's surely better to concentrate on putting forward your thoughts here.

Bet HE never got involved in semi legal tax avoidance on an industrial scale !
