    Internet birthdays

Received an email today from a technical forum I frequent to say that they had been hacked and members details stolen such as date of birth. This didn't fuss me as wherever I can I use my 'Internet' birthday...a fictitious date.

But then I got to thinking that maybe one or two of you might not be aware of the concept? Obviously there are some sites where you do have to use your real DoB but for ecommerce sites etc, an Internet Birthday will be fine.

Internet phone numbers are useful too.

I do sometimes. I registered for the Times once (before you had to pay) & selected, as far as I can remember, 1901 as my year of birth, which would have made me over 100 at the time. & I have to confess that I made myself much younger than I really am when I filled in the survey on the new radio website, & put myself into the wrong ethnic group.
