My pleasure, and now a shameless plug for the Billy Mayerl Society as well. Easily googlable. They put on their own concerts - in past years I've heard Susan Tomes, David Owen-Norris, Bill Davis RIP, Stanley Black RIP.

I turned pages for Stanley at a concert when he was 86 or so. Well, he had a sheaf of bits of manuscript on the stand with a few complete pieces of music on them and a lot of bits and bobs, and a lot of what he played was improvisation. I merely shuffled the pack when he seemed to need it, as I got no indication from him at all. When I put a new scrap in front of him he segued into that. Occasionally he'd stop and chat to the audience. It all went terribly well.

Sounds great - I imagine that DON's sessions are a hoot

          These make me feel good:
          Stevie Wonder: Sir Duke
Strauss: Italian tenor's song from Rosenkavalier, more or less any performance
Schumann Arabesque: Horowitz at Carnegie Hall

Did you not consider Darts " Come back my Love", instead of the Boney M, Beefy? Now THAT is an upbeat tune if ever I heard one !!

No, but I might consider it instead of the Pastoral!

spot on.....but just that track needs an edit, never mind the album !!
the early 80's...when producers discovered that great 3 minute songs could be turned into tedious 8 minute ones.

what a pity Darts never covered the 9th.... that would have helped solve the problem of choosing only 3.... ....Den and Rita would have done a great job on the last movement.
