Perish the thought, but suppose the child had been kidnapped or had otherwise come to harm.
imagine what would happen if a man that careless ever gets left in charge of the economy..

Well, at least I've never left any of my children anywhere; I don't say that this makes me any more virtuous than CallmeDave or the delightful Samantha, but it's a fact nonetheless...

Didn't I read on Another Thread that you haven't got any children?

Mind you, that post was made about 5 hours before the one above, so you could possibly have acquired a couple since then.

That could never happen, shurely? That would be almost as bad as a man that careless having his finger on the nuclear button.

                      Errmm.....

It seems to happen more and more often these days, but again I am reminded of Yes Minister and Yes PM. In this case, the first episode of the latter, when Hacker asked the Chief of Staff, "So if I gave the order, no one would argue with me? What if I were to get drunk!"

Sir Humphrey: "On the whole, it would be safer if you didn't."

I assume that you did and you certainly could have done - hence my point.

No - not possible at all. For the record, I don't make a habit of going around stealing other people's children (including those belonging to prime minsters and their wives) and never have done; I trust that this is OK with you.

                          Oh no! Not again ....

David Cameron has admitted that he accidentally left Nick Clegg on his own in Downing Street, effectively in charge of the country “for about 15 minutes”.

I don't know what all the fuss is about. It might have been serious

A violinist has been reunited with a £2million violin he left in the back of a New York taxi. Philippe Quint dropped to his knees and wept with relief as he was handed the 285-year-old Stradivarius. The Russian-born player left the instrument, which is on loan to him, in a taxi which picked him up from Newark Airport on his return from a concert in Texas

Why do expensive violins always go missing? Steve Inskeep has news of the latest: a Stradivarius stolen in a London sandwich shop when its owner stopped for a bite to eat.
