I recently had a problem with a HP computer monitor - just out of its one year warranty of course. However, I had taken out a HP Carepack which extends the warranty to two years so I was OK. (Computers are the only products for which I ever take out extended warranty with the manufacturer.)
HP were very good and arranged for my existing monitor to be swapped with a new equivalent (it was actually the identical model). However, when I tracked the delivery, I was startled to see the route the monitor took to arrive in Bristol:
Jirny, Czech Republic (presumably HPs European defects base)
Prague, Czech Republic
Nurnberg, Germany
Herne-Boernig, Germany
Barking, United Kingdom
Tamworth, United Kingdom
Bristol (UPS base), United Kingdom
Bristol (my home address)
... a total of 1159 miles (according to Autoroute)!
