    Best wishes for John Skelton

    John Skelton
(somewhat delayed) Whatever the reason for your leaving the Forum, I hope all is and will be well. Best wishes. I shall miss your posts.

Quite so. How do we know he has?
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
      Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

Always a pity when a valued member decides to leave. Perhaps JS got involved in one heated debate too many and thought it wasn't worth the bother any longer.

Yes, he did decide to give up, but will be touched by your comments - which I'll make sure he sees!
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

Ah thanks. Yes, it's a pity - bracing, articulate contributions which will be missed.

I miss him certainly - his posts were always clearly thought out and well expressed, and there was often a deliciously wicked streak in there too. He was even patient enough to explain things that this dullard didn't get in PMs

Come back when you're ready please John Skelton

I always thought JS was very rational and good to read. I can't remember whether I mainly agreed with what he said or disagreed. That is a testament in itself.

John - I know that that surname of yours isn't yours, and it isn't mine, but it is somewhere distant in my family. I liked that sense of familiarity. Please come back soon as you are missed by many.

very sad to see that john Skelton has left the forum .... his contributions were to the point, informed, original and witty .... and he will be especially missed on the round ball game thread ...

                    thank you JS

I greatly enjoyed his posts and learnt much from them. I hope he decides to rejoin us in the near future; but, if not, my thanks and very best wishes to him.

having been away for a while, tbh i am gutted.

nuff said as it's everyone's free choice to post ultimately ....BUT i would like to have an attack of bossiness, and demand that he return .... but (understandably) that'd probably have the reverse effect.

so, well posted js - i will miss your 5 input to the forum. (especially on 'hear & now', and on more politically orientated threads).
