    Prospero, Ariel, Reith and Gill

The best of the BBC, with the latest news and sport headlines, weather, TV & radio highlights and much more from across the whole of BBC Online

This Afternoon Drama on R4 really is worth a listen. The playwright imagines conversations between Reith and sculptor Eric Gill on the subject of his statue above Broadcasting House. I won't give the game away...but certain things have to be cut down to size a bit. Amusing, but tinged with sadness.

Riveting - anything with the wonderful Anton Lesser in is worth it and this was excellent afternoon drama. Real insights offered. What a pity it was not on R3!

Erm I thought things were cut down to size soon after BH opened. It was considered too flamboyant, as it were.

        Terrific performance from Anton Lesser.

And if you enjoyed the play, you may enjoy this programme with Maurice Denham

Maurice Denham chats to Mike Craig about his long and distinguished career.

who was a lift engineer during the building of BH.
