I think I'll defer commenting on that until we've had a minimum of 2 years of King Charles, or whatever he chooses to call himself, then we won't be so limited by the cult of personality

Not something that impinges on the lives of us poor folk

But when 'real power' is referred to here, it's to do with the governing of the country, legislating. The 'let's demolish Buckingham Palace and build affordable housing on the site' isn't a valid argument for abolishing the monarchy: it's an argument for wholesale appropriation of property.

There are perfectly valid arguments: but Chelsea Barracks - or 'they've got too much money' - aren't them.

Yes, I agree in principle with your point about the 'anti-democratic EU'. Do they equate national sovereignty with the monarchy (I don't know)?
