Well I am quite sure that she would very much "give a toss" as you so delightfully put it.

Do you always assume the worst about people you've never met?

          And they're off again!

But don't worry everyone. Pee and 2Gongs love each other really!

"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
          Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

As to there only being one truth, I think there are plenty of philosophers who might want a word in your shell-like, scotty

"The bee in your bonnet" is of course your persistent down on The Left, as if it were easily identifiable these days
Yes, yes, amsey ... most of us here are probably as old as you and were unfortunate enough to be around at the time of JJ's spell at The Sunday Express. So no history lesson required.

I've never been particularly fond or trusting of philosophers in general, but if they wish to make an appointment to have a word in my 'shell-like', I'll certainly see if my diary can accommodate them.

Ah-hah, so my 'bee in my bonnet' is that I have a persistent 'down' on the Left ... I plead guilty to such an horrific crime, m'lud, though, in my own defence,, I haven't been particularly aware that The Daily Mail is a prime exponent of such a political philosophy, so please advise if you have any evidence (truth) to the contrary!

GG seems to be a mindreader as well. I don't notice you criticizing his post.

                    Criticism? Moi?!

You seemed to be so certain about Her Majesty's thoughts, I felt that it must be true, Pee - truly a gift

As I'm sure you know, it's one of these allegedly funny Scottish place names, like Ecclefechan. Still, it's not a bad wee place - I know it fairly well. Jimmy Shand and the Proclaimers hail from there, and it was "Tannochbrae" in the STV 90s remake of "Dr Finlay". On a topical note, it appears in the fox hat joke:

Prince Charles is opening a new hospital in Auchtermuchty. He is dressed in a sober suit with a ridiculous hat with a real fox mounted on top of it.
After the plaque is unveiled, one nurse can contain her curiosity no longer, and asks him: "Why are you wearing that silly hat with a stuffed animal on top, your Royal Highness?"
"Well," explains the prince, "this morning, I told the Queen I was coming to Auchtermuchty to open a hospital, and she said to me, 'Auchtermuchty? Wear the fox hat?'".

Actually, mangerton, I wasn't aware music legends such as Jimmy Shand and the Proclaimers hailed from there, and I certainly didn't know it was the local set for "Tannochbrae".

                              And I call myself a Scot ...

So boring to have 2 Gongs, Pee and Am51 derail yet another thread with their kindergarten antics. Personally, I think FF should be waving the yellow card at these three.

This morning's service at St Paul's contained music that might actually have been of some passing interest to those on this Forum, especially after the inanities of the previous two days offerings.

Has no-one got anything of interest to say?
