And besides, everybody's allowed to let their hair down once in a while, even posh people.
Don't tell me you never misbehaved when you were a student??Patriotism is supporting your country all the time, and your government when it deserves it.

"I was continually having to go outside for a private word with the Manager, and then returning to the private room where we were dining to urge the club members to tone down their more hooligan instincts, at least until the next course was on the table"
and this
"all the club members were disgorged into Oriel Square, their frustrated thirst for vandalism was finally assuaged. The two Rankin brothers were setting the standard by throwing stones at the street lamps, as if they were at a coconut shy"
and this
"a group of club members had stormed down Oriel Street, singing rowdy songs and even breaking a window or two. [T] is said to have heaved a bicycle through someone's window"
and
"[the Proctors] were more inclined to regard it as an instance of collective riot, which was not totally out of character with our behaviour in the past.
When posh boys (& girls) behave in such a way it's all dealt with by flashing money around - buying people off, in other words, & handled internally. Can't have tha name of the University & our 'best' families sullied, can we?
Now, I wonder what would have happened if a few young people from Blackbird Leys had 'let their hair down' in a similar way?
