President Attenborough .... I'm sure he'd be mightily flattered, if also a bit bemused.

You might do well to differentiate between 'your' will and 'our' will ... a single letter but a huge difference in the great scheme of things ....

Yes, the Conservatives and their current Coalition partners, the Lib Dems, were in a clear majority in terms of both votes and seats ... didn't you know?

What might you have considered more democratically acceptable to you under the circumstances at the time ... ?

Actually I think quite a lot of them are rather funny -

              78. "It looks like a tart's bedroom." On seeing plans for the Duke and then Duchess of York's house at Sunninghill Park

              or show a degree of self-knowledge -

              63. "Tolerance is the one essential ingredient ... You can take it from me that the Queen has the quality of tolerance in abundance." Advice for a successful marriage in 1997.

Er, well I readily admit Maths was never my strong point, that's for sure ... but, even on your own figures ... well, I make that a 59.1% majority against 40.9% ... so, as Columbo might very gently respond, 'sumfin' bothers me here, ma'am ... '

I must have missed the bit on the paper that said Conservative/Lib coalition ..............
also you are ignoring how many people didn't vote
so it's hardy a clear majority is it ?
given that no one was asked to vote for what we have ..............

it's a rather expensive comedy act don't you think to pay all that for the DofE?
i'm sure there are other offensive bigots who would do it for much less ...........

But surely every democratically elected government in Britain is imposed "against the will" of those who didn't vote for it and at least some of those who abstained from voting at all?
