Why do you, Flossie, Amsey, Mr GG etc, get so upset about the existence of an institution that has the strong support of around 80% of the people of this country?
Surely you and the others are perfectly capable of recognising a total 'lost cause' when it's standing directly in front of you and staring right into your eyes ... ?

My most favourite part of the jubilee was Steve Bell's 'If ...' cartoons - http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisf...ubilee-pageant

What do you mean, it didn't?
Oh well, better luck next time.
Frost came on strong as Dimbleby and ran a commentary: "It is becoming clear .. something has gone wrong" he oozed serenely .. "Royal barge ... is sinking". He goes on to describe in detail the dress she is wearing.

So I remain both optimistic for change and thoroughly fed-up with the amount of effort and time devoted to bolstering up an outdated institution and that is required to get people like you up to speed

A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.
