I hate them, because I have a small screen and therefor one of your flag waving posts fills it, which is annoying. As is others who do not resize their photos

The BBC's reputation as a peerless broadcaster for the big occasion was done irreparable damage by the coverage of the Queen's Jubilee Pageant on the Thames, argues columnist JAN MOIR.

So can we therefore hope that you will finally desist from the childish abuse that you repeatedly hurl at that broadcaster on these boards? Because you certainly give a very good impression of being anti-Sky, despite the fact that its programming is often far superior to the the Beeb's, yesterday being a fine example.

and a might fine one at that hey Peester

It's a shame that Rupe and Brenda didn't have a word with him upstairs to get the rain to stop , i'm sure it's easily done ........... or was it that Rupe has trademarked the blue stuff above our heads and the BBC refused to pay the bribe , eeer sorry "facility fee" ?

She might also take some pleasure in the fact that Gary Barlow's musical celebration of the diamond jubilee – featuring her grandson Prince Harry on tambourine – made it to the top of the UK album chart on her big day.
wow i'm overwhelmed ......... or as Kate Bush memorably said ............. (steady on my kipper chums...........)
              but the real question is

              "who's on triangle " ?

Beatrice and Eugenie are the female Jedward. I think they are great.

(Johnson is close in that item to ruining the occasion for me. But not quite. It is so obviously just his usual piffle and flotsam).

Here he comes, after filling up this thread with identical emoticon after identical emoticon, he accuses me of being childish just because I take a principled stand against the Murdoch tribe and their associated companies.

I'm quite indifferent to Sky's success in broadcasting boats moving up the Thames (or was it down?) because I didn't watch it. Any of it.

Principled? That's a laugh. I love the way you assume the moral high ground, then proceed to act like a 5 year old. I fail to see much sign of principle in your pig-headed refusal to admit that Sky do actually make a number of high quality programmes, whatever your views of Murdoch. Whether it's the South Bank Show, the Arts Ignition series, drama, or arts documentaries, you simply pour scorn on the entire output, based on your "principled stand."

And since you didn't watch a single moment of the Pageant- more fool you- then any comments you make on the matter will, just like your comments on Sky, be based on complete ignorance of the subject under discussion.

Still, don't let that stop you. It never has before.

I am repelled by Murdoch's business methods aka criminality - that's all. You're obviously less concerned about that, and about 'programming' that involves running two Mahler symphony DVDs one after another for a whole week - not exactly creative is it?!

Funny how you always assume that anything with 'principle' attached to it has to be about 'moral high ground' which obviously offends you in some way. Why are you such a frightened, angry little bunny, Pee?

I begin to feel this is like a troublesome Derby match: rival supporters should be physically spearated.

Perhaps there should be one discussion centring on the Jubilee celebrations for those who are keen on them and a separate thread for those who want to rubbish them. And another for those who want to rubbish the monarchy. And another one for those who want to rubbish Sky - the quality or otherwise of the output of which seems to me to be separate from the ownership. There are only so many times that one can say in this particular connection that one disapproves of Murdoch and all his works before it becomes merely disruptive.

Is this thread redeemable under any of the topics?
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

Quality control is such a problem I agree but I'm surprised that the issue of multiple (and I do mean multiple) provocative emoticon postings isn't on your list and has not been mentioned a lot earlier

I read it all as good humoured myself
some people take themselves far too seriously about these things , it's only the queen , its not like its something important like music is it ?

............. and while many of us find it a rather pathetic comedy I think the world is wide enough to encompass all ?

How about a thread to rubbish the BBC ooops we already have that ..............

I do think members ought to be giving consideration to the concert this evening which CeeBeeBC News has
                                as its lead story today.
