Quick history lesson. In contrast to the Church of England, the Church in Wales is no longer an established church. Disestablishment was effected in 1920, under the Welsh Church Act 1914.
As a member of the Anglican Communion it recognizes the primacy of the Archbishop of Canterbury who does not, however, have any formal authority in the Church in Wales. So, we can cock a snook at Rowan Williams! Drippy Druid. And, I nearly burnt the rice posting that!

          That's what's sad.

It is a very gloomy day here - and the knowledge that lots of boats are sailing down a river 80 miles away does nothing to change that.

I had great-uncles wot woz involved in all that - a Dean of Llandaff, no less, and a canon somewhere else - which meant that when I was a nipper and fellow school kids were chortling at "antidisestablishmentarianism" as the longest English word - it was a word that actually meant something to me

Thanks for that. I am assuming no bunting was required for churches in Wales...just as well, because the C of E must have used it all up,!
You must be using quick cook rice.

Incidentally, Brenda recently visited Salisbury. She pretty much spent all the time visiting the military Museum, and the Cathedral....two of her big sources of support.
Strangely, didn't call in at The Heath, or the Friary...you can guess what they are !!

in a recent comedy sketch i heard, the queen greeted her relatives with a 'have you come far'? like she doesn't know where anyone else lives..... even in her own family!

why exactly does no one phone social services?

Given the amount of hassle musicians visiting schools get these days I do wonder if she has a CRB ?

Blimey, I don't think Salisbury is half as exciting as you lot seem to think !!
Or perhaps it is, and I am missing out on the fun...either way keep guessing..though some of the above may be located there, for all I know !!
