                        I heard Antonio Pappano in discussion last year with Ed Gardner and Vladimir Jurowski at an ROH Insight evening. He came down firmly against Salome, saying it made him sick! Not sure I actually agree but I know what he means...

                          I think Salome is the only opera I've come away from actually disliking. And I mean the opera not the production. Good to have Sir Tony validating my preference, then
