C4 despatches - Watching the Detectives

I watched this with interest but saw nothing that I wasn't already aware of. Much easier to bribe an employee than try and hack into a bank's database. Pay the bank employee a few bob and they'll print out anyone's bank account statement for you. A criminal act, I thought. Not according to LloydsTSB who were found to have an employee who had done just that. Lloyds' response? "We have sent the employee for retraining".

Retraining? This is a criminal offence surely? So much for LloydsTSB's mantra "we take the confidentiality and security of your bank account details seriously'.

I exepct you're right about the criminality, but I'd take issue on the above point, RM..

Most people are honest, and whilst most are also probably corruptible over some issues and for some sorts of bribe, you'd have to know your target/target's circumstances quite well to be sure of a result. Whereas hacking, for those who do it, is often remarkably easy!
