another interesting example of affiliation trumping rationality is the smoke screen that 'austerity' post the banking scandal has become the accepted response to giving all the cash to bankers and rich people ... with no sight of bank reform, stimulating demand or investment for growth and demand ..... the neo liberal agenda has seized the public agenda in the apparent cause of resolving the scandal ... the consequences of this are all about us ....

there is no rational or evidence based thinking in the coalition's strategy rather it is the Tory antipathy to public spending and the liberal dogma of orange book economics ..... these tribal battles between the posh schoolboys now threaten our health system, the extension of the disaster of rail privatisation to the road system and the punishment of the disabled for simply needing cash ....

we have no honour nor values in our politics just the braying of tribal bullies .... Lord Of The Flies without recourse to the Royal Navy ......

The BBC has always been attacked for bias by both sides of the political spectrum (I recall that Alastair Campbell was particularly vitriolic about the BBC during the Blair years, especially after the BBC exposed his 'sexing up' of the Iraq dossier), which suggests that it is generally getting things about right.
