It is a rather extraordinary piece, starting as a gentle whisper and ending with George's exhausted wail of relief and the unplanned 30 second wine bottle rattle. In the middle 8 he sings of "So many tears I was searching, So many tears I was wasting" and at the end he does seem to have arrived at some sort of mystical conclusion or reconciliation.

    More details here:

Here's my selection for a very good single CD (18 tracks, 52 minutes)

    Back In The U.S.S.R
    Dear Prudence
The Continuing Story Of Bungalow Bill
    While My Guitar Gently Weeps
    Happiness Is A Warm Gun
    Martha My Dear
    I'm So Tired
    Blackbird
    Piggies
    Rocky Raccoon
    I Will
    Julia
    Mother Nature's Son
    Long, Long, Long (Harrison)
    Revolution 1
    Honey Pie
    Cry Baby Cry
    Good Night
There's never going to be a consensus. I've always liked Long, long, long but, It probably wouldn't make it onto my 'single' White album.

Your list is very interesting, but please shorten it to 15 - it would be most helpful.

    Thanks

UPDATE! I have just followed your link - fascinating. I am going to play Long, long, long a few times now and reflect.

              Very interesting.

For some reason, I rejected a number of songs that I like listening to, but did not think them worthy of a final 15 (your friend has included them; Glass Onion, I'm So Tired, Piggies, Sexy Sadie, Why Don't We Do It In The Road.

              Will post my 15 now.

For me impossible to conceive a shortened version without Glass Onion which I'd have on a Beatles' top ten. Wonderful track!

in this digital and completist age 'track' is the core concept so you have them all .... album is just a historical accident like composition or genre innit and a B nuisance for the database ...

and over the course of weeks sailing across the Pacific several of us spent the Middle Watch as drunk as possible and attempting to sing Rocky Raccoon from memory ... a worthy challenge

According to the best estimates of astronomers there are at least one hundred billion galaxies in the observable universe.

In no particular order, Beef, Glass Onion, The continuing story of Bungalow Bill, Blackbird, Piggies, Yer Blues, Helter Skelter, Revolution 1, Cry Baby Cry, I'm so tired, Sexy sadie, Revolution 9, Birthday, Savoy Truffle, Julia, Everybody's got something to say except for me and my monkey. Afraid I over-listened to while my guitar over the years and from a cover perspective I once saw Ritchie Havens do a wonderful version of Rocky Raccoon on Old Grey, or Disco 2 or some such BBC delight and I'd have that as the cover addition.

....but maybe Callum singing it would suffice!
