Wrong thread - there's a perfectly good one here for pedantry, whoever may have committed it - but, more to the point, you've not answered the matter of your being content (apparently) to live in Europe when, in your view, "happy" and "Europe" are not words that you see as comfortably co-existing, so what do you say about that, Mr Pee?

Robert Schuman, not William. French bloke from Luxembourg.

OK, if you say so - but then what's HE got to do with this?...

Schuman Declaration of 9th May 1950. Today is the anniversary. He was the French Foreign Minister that formally proposed a European supernational community.

P.S. I prefer Schuman's violin concerto to the declaration.

Happy Europe indeed, with the French electing an anti-austerity President, & the Greeks voting against their imposed technocratic government. Even Cameron seems to be wanting to get into the anti-austerity act, declaring that it's not austerity, but 'efficiency'.

Hmm - the question implies that he lives on the same planet as the rest of us - & I'm not completely persuaded of the fact.

Well, the feeling is mutual, believe me.

As to why I live in Europe, well, I don't. I live in Britain, due to the fact that it is the country of my birth and ancestry.

British "ancestry" Is a quaint idea
                          Which begs the question
                          " how do you know " ?
And which Britons do u mean ?

OK, you may have been born in Britain, but what that says about your "ancestry" is open to so much debate that there's no space even to begin it; however, what's more important is that you appear to seek to draw some kind of distinction between the country of your birth / alleged ancestry and the continent of your birth in which you still live - and, since there is nothing to distinguish, the reason why you try to make such a distcintion is likewise open to debate. Last time I looked at a map, Britain was in Europe so, unless you've personally moved it elsewhere (and, if so, where and under whose authority?), that's where it currently remains. Like it or not, you are a Euro-Pee-an, so admit it, get used to it and let's move on.

Leaving aside the fact that 'Britain' isn't a country, England - which is where I believe you live - has been invaded/settled/colonised by Italians, Scandinavians, Germans, French, & Spanish, who have all left DNA traces. SO you might not think that you are in Europe - but Europe is certainly in you.
