Dunking is not solely the preserve of tea and biscuits. In France, one soon becomes inclined to imitate the natives and tremper a croissant in a bowl of café or chocolat chaud.

As for biscuits, I very rarely have them - but the variety of a dunked one compared with a crunchy one is surely not too offensive to your sensibilities, S_A? A coffee-soaked custard cream is a delicious thing! And as Anna said when raising the issue, she only does it in private (or at least in the intimate company of the elusive 'gingernuts' ), and I agree - I don't think it should happen in front of fellow-eaters save initiates of one's inner dunking circle..."...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

I don't eat biscuits regularly but one of my favourites are the Lotus caramalised biscuits from Holland.
