Ran decent race and a little unlucky not to get in the three! Sorry!

Let's see if we can turn it round at Goodwood.

Cheltenham almost upon us again, time flies.

Anyways I was given a tip for the gold cup the other day.

      Holywell,what do you think Alison/Pet ?

I've had a bit of the 10/1 available.

I shall be there on Friday again! I'm on a long winning streak at the moment (three winners today and had good winners every Saturday bar two since December 20) but this year's Gold Cup is the most wide open for a very long time. A good case can be made out for most of them, including Holywell. Will look at it in a bit more detail prior to Friday.

Holywell has excellent festival form . He has won at the last two festivals and for his jockey next Friday Richie McLernon as AP McCoy is claimed to ride Carlingford Lough .

Those races were at lower levels but he comes good in the spring , likes better ground and despite Monday's forecast it is likely to be good by Friday and was very impressive at Aintree last year in a conditions race after the Festival .

I would not put anyone off him at all .

Thanks, Barbirollians, you put the case very well. One for the short list.

Thanks from me too Barbirollians,I feel a bit more confident now.
With your current winning streak Pet I'm hoping you choose Holywell too.

Sad to hear that Sir Peter O'Sullevan, the 'Voice of Racing',has died aged 97.

One of the voices of my childhood and a legend of the sport. Saw him several times at Cheltenham and elsewhere in the past few years. RIP Sir Peter.

Sad to learn of the death of Times Racing correspondent Alan Lee today.

He used to cover cricket in earlier years.

The Grim Reaper has had rather a busy weekend

Looking forward to the King George on Boxing Day, probably my favourite race of the entire year. I've had wins every Saturday since Oct 31 so hope to keep the wagon rolling. Trust me to have been on Sternrubin in the dead heat race yesterday. The 12/1 I took was therefore slashed in half making a substantial difference to my winnings.

I thought you might have just shaded the photo Pet. Bad luck.

It proved to be the kiss of death, ER, so I don't divulge any more. Mind, this will make you laugh, I was besieged for requests for tips for this year's Grand National and gave out the winner, Many Clouds, to a fair number of friends and colleagues but didn't back it myself!!

Yes very sad news and although he had had a heart operation terribly sudden as he drove himself to the races for the first time since his operation on FRiday .
