I like Chief Barker each way in the Racing Post Trophy - also Take Cover in the sprint handicap and Night of Thunder in the Doncaster Stakes .
I hope Quiz Mistress and Piping Rock are worth their small investment at Newbury .
I didn't see the Night of Thunder race. Very impressive at Goodwood a couple of weeks ago. Fair play team Hannon for the Horris Hill win too. What a disgrace those silly new race names are.
Great to have jump racing back in full swing. Time to start getting on those Henderson/Geraghty and AP McCoy rides once again over the next six months.

Might as well stick a pin in I thought (but there is less excitement in a scratch card or a lottery ticket)
Actually, I caught the bus into town, started talking to a lady who is into horses, grew up in Newmarket, has owned and trained horses - actually quite sexy and glamorous for a 50 year old in a Puffa Jacket kind of way - anyway, she said - look at the horse's backside - that is where the engine is! Which is how you judge cattle as well.
Anthony Peter (AP) McCoy OBE finally rode his 4,000th NH winner today at Towcester.
A remarkable feat that will more than likely never be equalled.
Well done that man.
