This is what I feel at having yet another blank Saturday. My longest ever losing run just gets longer.

Can't wait for the jumps season to get properly under way then we might see a change in fortune (hopefully).

Cracking card at Cheltenham though Petrushka today - this bumper at 5.30 is likely to be very informative.

Ran well in third but badly interfered with though her own jockey was largely to blame going for evidently non-existent gaps . Annoying as I had her in the forecast with the winner who looks very good indeed .

Yes I was on Pipey in the Bumper as well. Got on e/w but frustrating !

An enjoyable Champions Day even though I still wonder if I'd rather have kept the old racing calendar.

The 2yo races are all messed up and Future Champions Day seemed devoid of any real buzz this year.

I always used to look forward to Ascots 3 day meeting at the end of September.

Next years future Champions Day is set to be worse - on a Friday and shorn of the Cesarewitch!

Poor old Rowley's being written out of history. In twenty years he may just be hosting 0-90 handicaps, maidens and nurseries. Maybe people just like the idea of going to Ascot and being in the 2/6 seats they can't get into in June.

The problem is that disastrous stand they built at Newmarket - all corporate with what seems like one large bad pub underneath and hardly any viewing . Newmarket's already quite limited atmosphere was destroyed .

Until they knock it down Newmarket's Rowley course will only limp on .

Exactly - a big stand with hundreds of seats high up with really good viewing for a long straight track and that lovely old tea bar under the stairs which looked like it had last been redecorated in the 1950s !

That tea bar was the best... !! On quieter days you could pick up on some local knowledge there as well. Havent been there (Rowley Course) since about 2000 Been to the July meeting since though

Throughout the 1980s and 1990s not a year went by when I wasn't at either the Cambridgeshire or Cesarewitch from when I was sixteen onwards .

I have pretty much given up on Newmarket's Rowley Mile I am afraid . I doubt I have been for six years or so . It is dead even on the biggest days.

I like Chief Barker each way in the Racing Post Trophy - also Take Cover in the sprint handicap and Night of Thunder in the Doncaster Stakes .

I hope Quiz Mistress and Piping Rock are worth their small investment at Newbury .
