I'm banking on the supermarkets being deserted during t'Olympics
It's a breeze down Tescos during the FA Cup Final
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."
Horse racing ... like it's motor equivalent ... has never particularly grabbed my attention, but it must be one of the few sports (well, the gambling part at least) which holds a mutual interest for both Toff and Scally.
Hardly a sport. Bear baiting wasn't a sport, neither is hare coursing. So why should the use of cruelty to force horses to race, jump and kill themselves be considered a sport?
It's a money-making ramp of course for a privileged elite, and many people lose a lot of money betting: some become addicted to it. Fine if they are rich; not so good if they are poor and have just bet the week's food money...
I'm thinking of paying Trenton Oldfield to fling himself in your paths as you head for Waitrose in a protest against elitism....

But I spread my largesse far and wide, my other main supermarket is the Co-Op And, in fact, both rubbernecker and I purchase their bargain wines, and I get a Divi, so don't call me elitist!! Merely a Canny Shopper!
My tip for the National has been in my mind for several weeks: West End Rocker. Synchronised is carrying top weight and the Gold Cup is always a tough race so ruled out for me. Black Apalachi is too old, ditto Hello Bud.
I also like the look of Junior, Calgary Bay , and Treacle. You can all thank me later!
...hmmm. Just as well I didn't get to the bookies in time
