What is there to say about AP that hasn't been said already? The man's a genius!

Best AP ride for me is the one he gave Witchita Lineman http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=flJ7XOWWFrM

A complete legend of a jockey and how apposite was today's winner for his retainer and in classic AP style - getting a horse up that looked beaten until the last 50 yds.

I was at Cheltenham that day - quite amazing ride . I had backed Wichita Lineman in a forecast with Maljimar the runner up - had written him off and suddenly just as maljimar appeared sure to win AP appeared .

Other great rides- on Pridwell to deprive the great Istabraq of an Aintree Hurdle , Edredon Bleu in the Champion Chase and the sadly ill fated Synchronised in the Gold Cup - he gave that horse so much confidence.

Did no-one place any bets today (I do hope my remark about sticking a pin in didn't lead Petrushka to abandon the bookies! )

I decided not to put them up on here in case it was putting the mockers on. As it happened I had a winner: Standing Ovation at Wincanton at 9/2. Picked up £55.
Hopefully, I've broken the cycle of losses and am now on a winning streak

Looking forward to the big jumps meetings now getting under way. Next up is the Paddy Power Gold Cup at Cheltenham next Saturday. This is my favourite time of year for horse racing and I am hoping for some Christmas spending money (on boxed sets naturally).

I had one winner yesterday from my three bets( sorry for the after timing ) the aptly named Melodic Rendezvous at Wincanton .

This is my standard format: three £10 win bets on three horses occasionally going each way in big fields. I therefore made £25 profit yesterday. I've lost faith in Lucky 15s, 63s etc. Single wins are best.

I like to do the exacta when going racing . I was on Cocktail Queen as well yesterday but she got mugged close home . As for that Pipe beast in the last at Wincanton that ran so promisingly at Cheltenham - that was very disappointing.

A very good mare and 3rd in the race last year and 5lb lower this time - unfortunately her usual jockey AP McCoy cannot do the weight and he seems to have been the making of her .
