A work colleague reckons Nocturn in the Ayr gold cup on Saturday is worth an e/w punt (currently around 20/1,there may still be some 25/1 around).
Not sure what our experts think.

Thanks for this, Rob. I took a brief look at the card this afternoon but will have a more in depth go at it tomorrow night. Any idea of your work colleague's luck at punting?

Well he's still working Pet .seriously, seems to do ok,but nothing spectacular.
My time up as well. The increasing darkness isn't helping.
We have decided in the office to abandon the lottery syndicates once the price per line goes up to £2 next month. If this is replicated across the country, as I fully expect it to be, then it's a spectacular own goal by the National Lottery.

we stopped doing a line each on our syndicate a while ago. We just do it when its the eurosquillions rollover, and we do a set number of lines.
I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered. My life is my own.
I used to be in charge of the syndicate at work - but getting the money out of some people prior to buying the tickets ..... So I gave up and no-one wanted to take over. We never won much, apart from some £10s the highest was £72. I very rarely buy a ticket now but it amazes me how people in the queue at the supermarket kiosk spend a tenner a time on scratchcards.
I only do the lottery at work, because its unimaginable how I would feel if they won and i wasn't in........!!
There was a tv drama serial (BBC?) about that very situation not long ago! I did win the British Heart Foundation Christmas hamper last year Which was a good return for £1 ticket! I wonder what the odds are for winning a (small) amount on the lottery versus Petrushka's racing tips ..... ?

BHF's book bargains in their shops can be very good Anna - I got a biography of Nadia Boulanger for £3 only last week - details of that hamper would be good svp.
