I'm taking a punt on Defendant at a big price Ascot 2.40.

Hillstar is a fascinating runner in the King George which I will have to back

more in hope than sure condfidence. Each way I think.

    Good luck everyone !

Bad luck for us so far, Alison.

Even without the rain there have been big priced winners at Ascot. What chance do punters have??

I've also backed Hillstar in the King George £10 win at 6/1. Sir MS must have some confidence to supplement this horse (or so I think).

Nothing today, I'm afraid. In retrospect, this was the most difficult days racing for finding winners for some time. Ah well, there's always Glorious Goodwood coming up this week.

        Awaiting Alison's tips for Goodwood!

I was just about to alert Sir Malcolm Sargent-fan salymap that her hero was returned and in a new career too and then the penny dropped - sorry, Sir Michael Stoute innit

But you got a third in Intrigo! (I happened to turn the racing on a couple of times) And, what about anyone who backed Princess Noor at 25-1? I did hear one of the commentators saying it was a good day for the bookies ........

I did win only bets, Anna, given up on the Lucky 15s as returns were poor. Actually, I ignored my own tips (except Intrigo) and went win only on three horses all of whom came third!

Well, far be it for me to say but wasn't that - rather foolish?

Bad luck for those who followed" Pets Picks". Never made the bookies, so at least it wasn't my jinx that stopped them !

St Leger Day at Doncaster, the last (and longest) classic of the Flat season. I don't do badly in this so with Proms and Summer hols a distant memory, thought it the right time to re-launch Pets Picks.

                    Today's choices:

Doncaster 2.40: Secret Witness 33/1 (each way bet)

                    Doncaster 3.15: Sovereign Debt 11/1

                    Doncaster 3.50: Libertarian 7/1

Hoping to buck a long losing run!

                        Thanks for the tips Pet.
Looks like a nice treble so I will split my Saturday flutter money between that and my football accumulator.
                        4 draws,
                        Hull v Cardiff.
                        Ipswich v Middlesborough.
                        Crawley v Shrewsbury,
                        Newport v Morecambe.

Each way bet on Secret Witness only success this week (came an excellent 3rd). Hope ER has had better luck on the footie.
