    Strikes

you can not trust any one to say the truth around big strikes ..... far too political ... not too fussed about the tanker drivers [very diversionary for the time of year innit]

Spain and its general strike is another country ..

nope the strike that is killing us is the capitalists strike ...they are boycotting investment ... even the torygraf thinks so

roll up roll up tepid pasties tepid pasties ... [if you thought a jerry can was a German prison, you must be young]

no one could make this farce up ......

Time for a re-release of this methinks

The original 7" version off the "Four Sore Points" EP from 1980. For some reason the "Punk Singles Collection" CD uses the LP version instead of the 7" version.

The voodoo vibes are working. Loving it. A totally bungled Coalition March.

I doubt whether many people have 20 litre jerrycans at home, they are nearly impossible to lift when full, totally impractical for filling a car tank unless you use a syphon. Even my 9 litre jerrycan is pretty heavy when full and impractical for pouring from.

I'm sure Mr Maude was using the term generically for any petrol container (and he did say "a little petrol in a jerrycan" not a full one).

I'm sure he is a total ar*e who has someone to lift his "jerrycans" anyway
can't we all just get one of the servants to make sure that the Bentley always has a full tank ?

"The greater the extent to which people have fuel in their vehicles - with maybe a little bit in the garage as well in a jerrycan - the longer we'll be able to keep things going."

Maybe the assumption that we all have garages to keep our cars in ?

Here's one approach to storing petrol in your garage

Either Maude is a total idiot or it was a clever diversionary tactic away from the various political hostages to fortune given to his class in the budget - anyway every garage I've passed today (in Surrey) has had queues outside whereas normally they are fairly quiet mid morning - my own opinion is that Maude is too thick and self centred to come up with any diversionary tactic.

thanks for providing the quote which shows how he has been misquoted
anyone without a garage or outer building probably shouldn't be storing petrol at all

Yes but if everything they do now goes pear shaped, 99% of us are winners.

Where has he been misquoted ?

Or are you suggesting that anyone without outbuildings (and a butler ?) really shouldn't have a car in the first place ?

Martha Kearney pointed out that the 20 litre capacity of a jerry can exceeded the legal limit for privately stored petrol. Francis Maude said that was “absurdly technical”. When she then asked if he was advocating breaking the law, he said of course not.

She then asked him what he was advocating. He said that people should take "grown up" decisions. So she asked whether that could include using a jerry can. I forget what he said next but it was all absolutely pathetic. He talks complete rubbish.
