You are going on holiday. Don't ask why, you can only take 10 items. They can all be CDs or music in some other format, 1 hour or so each,or books. What would you choose? Titles and/or performers needed.

Don't ask me, I never go on holiday now

Make sure you don't take this on an aeroplane. Frau Alpensinfonie had hers confiscated at Stansted.

Terrific collection! I think it's the Brief Encounter DVD that's most touching!

I never listen to music on holiday unless I attend performances while there but if I did I would take a few CD's relevant to my location.

My reading matter on holiday follows the same theme. For example in Paris a few years ago I took a clutch of Simenon's Maigret titles as well as Is Paris Burning? by Larry Collins and Domenique Lapierre. In Vienna, I read Last Waltz in Vienna by George Clare and while I was in Krakow (taking in Auschwitz) I chose Thomas Kennealy's Schindler's Ark. It made it that much more unforgettable to visit the locations mentioned in the books as I read. I managed to find Oscar Schindler's apartment in Krakow long before the film came out!

I strongly recommend taking relevant books on your travels!

The sauce and mustard might attract disapproval as well, like other liquids, creams and pastes...

Ok, I've edited my list and swapped out the HP sauce for The Diary of a Nobody!

It's a shrewd point you make there, Don!

I think the conclusion must be that Beefy is off on hols on a rather well-appointed private yacht.

Thanks Aus Ital, but I never make that mistake.

Your domestic arrangements must be chaotic if you think those items are CDs or books.

My tottering pile of unread books makes a Kindle somewhat unnecessary and as for mustard I'll buy it on location.

I may have mistook Saly's intentions but I though we were just talking books and music, surely a Kindle and Laptop would allow several boooks and gigas of music!
