I use this really simple site: http://imgur.com/
Once you've created your free account, you upload the pic using the 'Computer' button (assuming you have the pic in question saved to your computer).
Then click on the thumbnail of the picture showing on your 'images' page on the imgur site, and of the options, copy the code showing in the "Linked BBCode (message boards)" box, and post it into your message.
That does the trick
PS: I omitted to mention: your piece about your dad is a real treasure!"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

Thank you, Caliban. Actually, I did know this, but needed a mental jog, and thanks for yours and all the other kind words
Now to that picture. I was in father's village at the weekend with his surviving relatives and I was delighted to get a copy of this family portrait taken in about 1951.
It may be worth pointing out that this is just of one family. Yes, my father was the eldest of ten - four boys and six girls - and Ireland didn't get a television service until 1960!
It was taken in the leading portrait studio of the day in Dublin on the occasion of my father's sister entering the order of the Daughters of Charity and it is one of those images simply of another time. I like it very much.
