watching the excellent panorama on poverty in USA i was struck by this $$$$head republican commentator disputing the dietary details of the kids of p[oor parents as measured in various surveys .... this was intercut with the kids themselves talking about having no food [break your heart time] .... the $$$$head commentator was quite overweight in the american way with an overhanging neck etc and clothes that could feed a family of ten for a month .... i was shouting abuse at the screen, swearing at this toenail clipping of a human being with a surprising venom ....
as the cuts bite and the poor are with us in larger numbers and worse circumstances than we have known for generations it should ill behove any cabinet minister, pundit, or public official pushing the need for "austerity" or "living within our means" to appear an ounce over lean or in clothes that cost six months food for a child .... lets have all the fat cats on a diet eh
