Emanuel Cooper, ceramicist, gay activist, 1938 - 2012

I've just caught up with the fact that Emanuel Cooper died on the 21st January. Anybody who was involved in gay activisim in London in the 70's & 80's, as I was, or was interested in ceramics, as I became, would have encountered Emanuel. He was working right to the end - the proofs of his next book, on Lucie Rie, were on his desk and it will be published later in the year.
