I saw the Beach Boys in 1980 at Wembley Arena (supported by Chris Rea). I was there with someone who was a lifelong fan. It was pleasant enough but I never bought into the 'Brian Wilson is a genius' myth or the knee jerk critics' choice of 'Pet Sounds' as the greatest album of all time.

No but Brian wasn't bad and had some good ideas and Pet Sounds was pretty damn good.
