There is a category of people - it might be a category of one - in which there is a new, arguably more honest, view of paid work. Rather than being workshy, such people may be borderline workaholics. However, on principle, they wouldn't enter paid work. That principle is essentially that the role between employer and employee is fundamentally abusive in nature and always has been.

To be employed is to be abused and to be an employer is to be the abuser. The more civilized a society, the more this is watered down. The less civilized it is, the more acute that situation becomes. Clearly in the latter scenario, no one of moral standing could accept happily either role. We currently live in the latter scenario. Hence those in the aforementioned category say no.

Not to be in paid work is easy in this climate. To do it for the long-term is very difficult. For as long as it takes place, those out of work are effectively above the millionaire managers because while the latter live wonderfully well, they are still enslaved to paid work. Of course, the former are unlikely to survive for long but on balance that is probably a reasonable price worth paying.
