    Money For Old Rope Awards

    .... and today's winner is

.. at least £8m from helping herself ... who is awarding her firm contracts using our ££££?
According to the best estimates of astronomers there are at least one hundred billion galaxies in the observable universe.

I thought it was Carol Vorderman at first.

Here is a part of this delightful grasper's blog. The letter is one that would easily have been written by an AO in the Civil Service, paid around £20,000 pa if she is lucky. In fact, many good ones could have written it with their eyes closed -

As for the general picture in this country, there are some traits among the upper echelons. They encourage each other's greed and defend it. They are full of bull. They tend to turn logic upside down so that the most vulnerable are made to feel that any assistance to them is bad for them. They have umpteen cars so as to muck up the planet further. They breed like it is going out of fashion. Surprisingly frequently they have weirdo lifestyles. In fact, nearly all of them do. Britain's a fantasist's crock of gold.

A quick word to real ale fans. To my palette, this tastes like a cesspool - http://www.thornbridgebrewery.co.uk/

Post 7 - I was in the cadets. They give you survival techniques etc.

Post 5 - 5.9%. Is that one designed to dull the minds of critical journalists?

quite . like all those journalists and politicians who are always happy to suggest that we should keep doing useful rewarding work into our 70'S.

nice work if you are freelancing for the Express, or doing the odd morning on legal work on £250 an hour. Less attractive , though for the 68 year old tyre fitter, the octogenarian year 10 teacher, or the sales rep with 7.5 million miles on the clock.

we should get rid of these parasites, and their inherited wealth and status once and for all.

anyway, monday morning when the alarm goes off at 6.10, i shall now know that its not another long week flogging books to an ungrateful nation that faces me, but my own personal opportunity to develop. Would have thought of it before, but thinking is for the likes of dave and emma, not for us ordinary folks.

You could always get yourself nominated as a People's Peer (or has that sale finished now? ) : they get £300/day they attend, tax free

well at least at that rate of pay we won't get many investment bankers as peoples peers. Who needs a pay cut?

Anyway,at my place of employment i nominate our most recent director for the MFOR award.

"earns" four times what i do, does a passable imitation of the titanic deckchair person, and sacks people.

Oh, and appears to have the company monopoly on good ideas.

                              Don't get me started.
