You tipped me over the edge, Cloughie.

I'm now officially waiting for this in the post.

Will have to pass on the Gielen box, for now.

      Lucky it's pay day.

Oh, it isn't . Never mind........

Guess we're quits, ts, after the pre Christmas Karajan 'bank balance bending bargain buy' of last year!

Nothing wrong in an honourable draw.
These bargains cost us a fortune.

( Fortunately, I saved £30 by giving up my ticket to the final game of the season, having done my dough , and nerves, at the Bournemouth game. So I put the cash to good use !!).

Assuming that the book does not have to be about music......

To celebrate the removal of all the scaffolding following the restoration of the great east window at York Minster.

Barenboim’s style of play beats Sparky’s then!

What will you listen to first?

                    The Beethoven or Berlioz?

                      :p

I've just put the earlier version of Le Marteau on - the one that won BaL.

Eagerly awaiting delivery of the first 3 CD releases from all that dust.

Listening to a 'warts and all' guerrilla recording of For John Cage (Morgan and Tilbury at Kings Place) to whet my appetite.

British Symphonies on Lyrita - a 4-CD set with works by Sterndale Bennett, Rootham, Moeran, Bax, Wordsworth, Rubbra, Berkeley, Alwyn, Williams, Arnold, Searle, Joubert, Rawsthorne. Some duplicates, but still worth investigating. I get a free MP3 download as well!

Hopefully this will be on the way soon: https://www.mdt.co.uk/liszt-complete...pec-naxos.html, along with the Liszt Symphonic Poems for 2 pianos I mentioned elsewhere, Leslie Howard's Liszt New Discoveries volume 4 and lastly Bronsart & Urspruch Piano Concertos on Hyperion - The Romantic Piano Concerto vol.77.

The advantages of having actually been in paid work for the last 5 weeks - until yesterday when the contract ended.
                              Best regards,
                              Jonathan

Ordered this last night. Ian Thumwood mentioned it somewhere and it looked interesting. I listened to parts of it on YouTube and decided it's a keeper!
