I took the recent Amazon £10 off if you spend £50 "offer" as an excuse to get some items on my wish list:

Philippe Jaroussky: Mélodies françaises sur des poèmes de Verlaine
Lucinda Williams: The Ghosts Of Highway 20 (new - v good!)
Hilliard Ensemble: Masses and Motets by Dunstable and Power (Virgin Twofer)
Alina Ibragimova & Steven Osborne: Prokofiev Violin Sonatas
Frank Bridge Songs: Hyperion Dyad (Twofer)
Dartington Piano Trio: Bridge Chamber Music (Hyperion Helios)
Galina Vishnevskaya with Rostropovich on piano; Russian Songs and Romances (v cheap Apex Twofer)

Plenty to dig into there over the next few days/weeks

Strange - I was browsing Amazon yesterday and spotted that and thought it looked interesting.

            .

Just realised how little I know of Boccherini. Have got many of the quintets, now starting on the quartets, most interesting. And this looked a particularly promising addition...

I was put on to the Op. 32 quartets by the joint efforts of two of our most-missed members, on this thread: http://www.for3.org/forums/showthrea...054#post228054

I'm glad to see I registered my appreciation.

"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
              Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

I've had it in my basket for 2/3 months and finally moved it from its 'saved for later' status to buy.

I received a £50 Presto voucher recently and have ordered the eagerly awaited Elgar 'cello concerto from Steven Isserlis, the new Vilde Frang Britten and Korngold violin concerto disc and Mozart Quartets from the Hagen quartet.

                  Great stuff!

On Sargent and Sibelius Syms 1, 5 and the tone poems seem to be recycled frequently but to my knowledge No 2 has never appeared on CD - irrational record companies or have they lost the mastertape (or the plot!)

Just delivered, a package which, when opened, revealed a box marked "ASUS A8S-XMotherboard". However, it did seem a bit heavy for that. Inside was the item referred to in #543. The hardback book is in near perfect condition (just the "WITHDRAWN" stamp, very slight remnants of two removed label, and 7 neat dog-ears (most marking new chapters) which were reversed without problem. The original penciled price of £50 remains in tact on the first (blank) page. Very please with both condition and speedy delivery.
