Ralph Vaughan Williams - Symphonies 1-9 etc

£11.52 incl p&p Amazon MP, a very good price IMV. When I was collecting the Vernon Handley EMI Eminence cycle, release by release almost 25 years ago, I think it must have come to over £70 with the other associated RVW EMI Eminence Handley releases. We're lucky these days that music is so cheap.

Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
              Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

I ordered this because I've picked up a positive vibe about Blomstedt's cycle from some forum members. and £12.49 incl p&p brand new and sealed is quite good.

Also, you can't actually have too many Sibelius cycles.
                It's been tested by research

Two is enough for me (Maazel/VPO and Davis/Boston)
plus some singletons (BIS' original version of 5 coupled with the well known one e.g.)

I am being torn between the desire to add Karl Bohm's Brahms cycle and the rational thought that I really don't need another Brahms cycle. I don't expect to be talked out of it by anyone here.

Monday is the last day of my current batch of annual holiday/rest days stretch. Really hoping to take delivery from MDT that very day. These days the post does not arrive until well into the afternoon, so it will be an evening of Ives if the SACD does indeed turn up.
