You could say it was a Halloween purchase as I ordered it that very day. Nikolaus Hillebrand is in a German television production of Flotow's Martha and I like him a lot it that video. Would love to get the Kaufmann set but this one is available for much lower price used.

Nikolaus is the bsss-baritone in this video from the German TV Martha production.

Bulgakov: The Master and Margarita, after a stern warning at a recent DSCH weekend that it is key for understanding the great man.
I keep hitting the Escape key, but I'm still here!

Good luck: I'm afraid I've tried to read it twice (different translations) and given up both times.
I'll have to forgo any extra understanding of DSCH.

Just ordered this from MDT. Not seen it advertised elsewhere. Scheduled for release yesterday, it comprises 2 Blu-ray Audio discs with three different re-masterings of the 1970s survey. There's 2 channel stereo, 5.1 (both in 192/24 high resolution) and a further option of 48/24 Dolby Atmos. Not my favourite survey of the Beethoven symphonies but not the least attractive, either. I am fascinated to hear what they have done with them. When I placed the order, the site claimed 1 copy remaining. It now reads "Notify me when this product is in stock ". It is not yet clear whether I made it im time or not. The order was confirmed but no indication of dispatch has yet been received.

I do hope you're in luck.

The 1970s HvK was my first LvB complete set.

I have the CDs (in the big DG Karajan box) to fall back on if the Blu-rays fail to arrive

Just had an email for MDT advising of the dispatch of the Blu-rays.

Though out of stock at now at MDT, I see it is listed on ebay, though at a somewhat higher price.

Even at that price it's a bargain. I bought the CD set around 1991 for about £30. That's how it was in those days!

Annoyingly, I have two copies of the 1960s set on Blu-ray. I bought one before the big Karajan box, which also has it, was announced.

In all honestly Bryn, we are lucky that it does not happen wholesale given the amount of music we've bought, especially you!

One I have been waiting for rather longer than I should have is this, ordered from a Greek amazon.co.uk marketplace supplier. It was due to have arrived by October 24th but has only just been delivered. I am looking forward to spinning the 2 discs later, three different recordings of D 960, one on a Graf from around 1826, one on a Steinway built in 2004, and one on a 1923 Bösendorfer.

I've just ordered a 'new' recording of Schubert's 5th & 8th symphonies with Claudio Abbado conducting the Vienna Philharmonic. I think this has been languishing in the archives for a bit. Deutsche Grammophon is the label.

I wasn't terribly keen on the YB symphonies that I heard a few years ago, but EdgeleyRob's regular recommendations of this composer caused me to check out his chamber works. I really enjoyed his suite for violin & piano, so I've taken the plunge and ordered a few CDs of his chamber music.
