Watch out for the Blind Lemon Jefferson cover, "See That My Grave Is Kept clean"
About Blind Lemon Jefferson here - http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blind_Lemon_Jefferson
They did the whole of the album at the Electric Ballroom, Camden a few weeks ago.
I think this album, the first one in eight years from these guys, is the best thing they've ever done.
The book is great too.
How do these guys manage to identify the most diverse and idiosyncratic songs, deconstruct them and put them back together into something totally different from the sum of the parts!!??

After a first listen I'm not sure its as good as Volk or even Opus Dei but worth repeated listening

You will come to rate this album above all others. I bet.
At first, it may not catch one as the other albums do. Read the book, listen again. Absorb.

I personally rate it as one of my top ten favourite albums of all time, and I've only had it 3/4 weeks!
Trust me!!

I have the Sony set, but I've decided to get this too.
Personally very keen on both 2VS and Boulez
The original 4LP sony set was planned to be Volume 1 of a 2 volume set (as the last page of the accompanying books confirms). That 2nd set never materialized - and what that 2nd set might have consist of: (nearly) all is included here.
What isn't in this set: the Pieces opus 6 in their original orchestration, and Siegfried's Schwert, a ballad for tenor (IIRC) and orchestra. The original 3rd mvt of the Symphony op.21 isn't in it either, but that's a reconstruction -but so is one of the 13 Pieces for orchestra which originally formed the opus 10 set - and that one is included.
But whatever: I love and cherish this set, played it completely in February.

I like the Sony set very much, and from what you say, I'm in for a treat!

Seems it was an arrangement of the work by Martin Plüddemann, and not an original composition by Webern. Shame about the failure to include it nonetheless. Likewise the lack of the full orchestra version of Op. 6 is regrettable.
