A cd that's released on Naxos a week come Monday called 'Comedy Overtures' on the Naxos label.

The RSNO is conducted by Lance Friedel. 'In Tune' played 'Suzanna's Secret' last night and very perky it was too...

Have another look, Alison. The current Presto price is £28.40 plus £1.50 p&p.

Nethers, I am so sorry. I was looking up the Gothic!

                  Late night last night.

I'm just hoping they have made a better job of the transfer, or rather, got a better source, than they did re. The Gothic. That came replete with the 19kHz stereo multiplex peak, showing it was sourced from the wrong end of a broadcast. I did have decent Dolby B cassettes of The Tigers taken from FM, but they have disappeared and all I have had for the past few years is a fairly low data rate wma of a not very well captured recording downloaded via another forum. Better than nothing but hopefully not a patch on what should be here in a few days.

Found these 3 Sibelius symphony sets for a total of £24.87 incl. p&p, on Amazon. Abraveanel & Maazel are brand new, Rattle pre-owned by in very good condition.

A good set of bargains, I thought.

Maurice Abravanel - Utah Symphony Orchestra
                        Label: Musical Concepts Group

                        Simon Rattle - CBSO
                        Label: Warner Classics

Lorin Maazel - Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra
                        Label: Sony Classical

I like Jordi Savall best, when he's doing up-tempo or exotic stuff
