Since the taxman was nice enough to give me a small refund this year, I'm celebrating by ordering this wonderful facsimile of the manuscript of Mozart's Figaro:

My CD-buying holiday is seriously faltering. Having listened through lots of Boult RVW, I then played through Vernon Handley's cycle and decided I need this...........

£8.79 including P&P from Amazon is a steal!!!

But this CD buying has got to stop, it's an illness

          Good set, that Slatkin/RVW

Today, after having attempted to buy the Pip & Tony play Wolfie CD from a "specialist Classical Music Shop" 12 miles from where I live (only to be treated as if I was in a Monty Python cheese shop adaptation) I've ordered it from Amazon.

          Honestly - I tried my best to support local(ish) trade ... !

Well just make sure that when you listen to it, you have a cup of 'Fair Trade' coffee in your hand!

I have broken my CD-buying holiday and ordered the Eloquence CDs of the complete symphonies.

                      Recorded 1952 - 1955 Kingsway Hall, Mono.

Can't wait for them to arrive!!!!!

Here's an interesting article/review on the recordings.

You tempt me strangely, Beef Jerky.

                        Nice looking pair.
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
                        Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

All the talk on the forum has meant that i find this irresistible! Just ordered it for £10.22 incl p&p brand new from Amazon Marketplace.

At some point I'll need to decide between Sir Colin's LSO & Boston sets
