Why restrict the venom to Prince Charles? The BBC does this all the time. Maestro, of course; and Michael Portillo making programmes about train journeys.
And many more.
My comments were aimed at the bbc, who do indeed do this stuff all the time.
Its a service we pay for, and they spend a good chunk of it on nice activities for people who really don't need the opportunity, while others who do need and perhaps deserve the opportunity get frozen out.I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered. My life is my own.

(Also, I genuinely thought Portillo was a long-term railway enthusiast! Another illusion shattered ..)
Which perhaps just shows that it's not what you know, or even who you know, that matters, but who you are.

Well, if he doesn't write his own words, what was he doing writing and re-writing his script in front of me in the studio ? There were remarkably few 'ums' and 'ers', as it happened.

His comments on architecture are extremely coherent, and probably would be supported by the majority of intelligent people in the country.
That they irritate talentless luvvies is unsurprising, but a bonus for most of us and yet another reason to rather like the fellow!
