Here I am all alone. Must be time for bed.

I shall amend the third element to make it more obvious:

Which S was betrothed to a man who elsewhere is quite accustomed to getting into a lather?

      And so to bed.

The final Susanna is Figaro's betrothed in Mozart's The Marriage of Figaro.
In Rossini's Barber of Seville, Figaro does a lot of professional lathering.

Ofcachap wins that round and gets to set the T. Please.

          Lather... Barber... Of course!!!

          Angle, you've gone monochrome...

Wonder what's happened to your nice blue and gold avatar....
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
          Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

Thank you and good morning folks! Barber > lather: how could I have missed that. T coming up very shortly.

What T specifically links these composers in the given order?
Richard Rodgers; Richard Rodgers; Wilfred Josephs; Carl Davis.

I was just idly wondering, rather than a strictly musical link, are we looking to spell out a four letter word?

Oh that's alright then! I can go offline happy in the knowledge that I was totally on the wrong track

                      The given order is chronological.

That's what I had, which is why I thought the 4 letter word might be "Time" spelt out alphabetically by compositions in chronological order. Just the way my mind works (or doesn't work!) if you follow!

Nothing that subtle. As it happens, three of the four elements that will lead you to the linking T begin with the same very familiar three-letter word (and that's 'definite')

Oh, but I must go offline now for quite a while ...... I was also thinking of that three letter word but then discounted it. No doubt when I get back it'll be solved.

My avatar has gone monochrome for a few days, Caliban because I just felt like a bit of a change. Incidentally, it has a connection with Composer of the Week at the end of March/beginning of this month.

Now, under a monotonously grey sky the day begins with a funeral. I doubt if there will be anything but "My Way" - again.

                              Best wishes.

Well done, Ofcachap, and geetings everyone.
