    Is the I a place?

... ferneyhiccough's hint leads me to believe the place we are looking for is in Paris.

As the works must date from the 20th century - don't look to me for an answer!

... all perfectly acceptable, if not what I was thinking.

So - to sum up: three works all conceived and realized at IRCAM, (the "Institute for Research and Co-Ordination between Music and Acoustics").
                  Magnus Lindberg: Joy
                  JoyMagnus Lindberg(1989)....For ensemble and electronics....

Jonathan Harvey: Mortuos Plango, Vivos voco

(the title, meaning "I lament the dead, the living I call to prayer" is the inscription on the bell at Winchester cathedral whose manipulated sounds - together with those of the composer's twelve-year-old son - make up the materials of the piece.)

                  Gerard Grisey: Les Chants d'Amour

... all of which leaves vinty with full laurels - and the J if he so chooses ...

                      Good morning Flay.
Reminds me of a song 'My favourite waste of time'.
All we need now is a Vinti J set of clues and the [B]Advent[B] ure recommences.

                          ... ho ho!

Sadly am out of puff at the moment : am very happy to delegate to Enthusiasts the carrying on of the baton.

Would Flay, Cloughie or antongould like to take up the challenge?

Busy at the moment but if I think of something whilst on my chores... Don't let that stop anyone - as there seems to be an interest in reviving AA then we should do it ...
