Where TiVO scored was in it's exceptionally good user interface and it's flawless ability to reliably record what you asked it to. Too many of the modern machines are rushed out to market with barely a nod towards testing of functionality.

Not really! I think I'll wait for 'D' and hope that it's a little less vaguely formulated.

Two composers are English. The third French. The title of one of the pieces of work (the one about C) is also, as I have just discovered, the title of a musical.

        Ofcachap..you are so close!

          Is the answer "clown"?

Afraid not. A hearty answer, though, should be a bit of a cakewalk.

Another clue.....look upwards and what do you see?

celestial is going in the right direction

And don't forget that I like to 'hide' additional cryptic clues in subsequent posts. I have made two, so far.

                Clouds?

(All I can think of is Debussy's Nuages, though).

                  Right composer... the non-English one.

EDIT: Mea culpa...one of the English composers was actually born in Ireland but spent most of his life in England.

Ofcachap actually mentioned the singular of C in one of his posts. If we don't get this soon I'm going to have to go and stand in the corner.

                      Corner?

                      Debussy's Children's Corner
Emily Davison killed at Tattenham Corner

errr... that's as far as I have got with this.

I was going with Emily Davison too, but at the races or 'les courses' and getting nowhere either. Even thought about Hamilton Harty and another Wild Geese chase...

Yes, that's what I thought... only thing I'm getting now is Children, but that doesn't seem to fit with looking up or suffragettes
