True! I was so far off, I was well out of harm's way...

Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

As I cannot think of any composers called Neil, and only one conductor of that name, can we assume it's something to do with Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young?

Not Sedaka then?
It's a big record list to go through & then find you're on the wrong track, y'know
The only Neil (edit: Doh! He's Noel, not Neil!!!!) of the 2000s I can think of is Gallagher, Neil Tennant is 90s, if it's some boyband then I wouldn't have a clue. Are the other two classical?

Reason: completely wrong name!

By 2000s I mean 200-2010, though he may have started off in the 90s.
Not a boy band. What are they for - manufactured, don't play instruments, don't do harmonies.
Well, I am totally flummoxed and don't know where to look. The only Paul that comes to mind is Hindemith or McCartney. As it's a lovely sunny evening I think I'll go and catch the rays outside with a glass of something cold and refreshing whilst dinner cooks.
