        I am here!

Palimpsest is correct Flay! You have forgotten the jazz composer I think - the great Lennie Tristano (again!) wrote a piece called Palimpsest -

George Benjamin & Simeon ten Holt are the other two.

        The Q is yours!

Edit: Ah, sorry - I see you found and American Composer with Crane Palimpsest - well done, but I did say jazz, it was Tristano I was thinking of.

Oh and a thank you to Ferney for Persistance that's a very good group - unfortunately I have a rather good memory, you'll have to wait a while before you can use it!

Well, as Meat Loaf said, two out of three ain't bad. A brilliant question yet again, Miss Tiggy

So Q up because Robert Johnson did not sing the blues, but was an eternal source of divine light, for Mr Heseltine.

Palimpsest is also the title of the first part of Gore Vidal's memoirs and a right good read it is too

Hmm. She thinks I am getting too comfortable. I have retired a little early but I just had to get out. The plan is to do some locums. I planned to leave it a few days, then a week or two, but now... Is it really worth it? £490 a month medical defence insurance (to keep Caliban away!), GMC fees etc...

Sounds like taking your time is very sensible, in order to be able to answer that question...

                          Queen? (Anne)
We recall that there are a pair of 16th century composers called Robert Johnson... can't pin that element down... but:
"Eternal Source of Light Divine" is an aria from Handel's "Ode for the Birthday of Queen Anne"
Mr Heseltine aka Peter Warlock wrote a song called "Queen Anne"
"...the isle is full of noises,
